General Teaching Style
I am excited to work with all ages - from inspiring a love of the instrument and while establishing fundamentals to working on improvising, new chord voicing, and composition with more experienced students.
I am dedicated to finding each student's learning style and motivation, with an emphasis on practicing the right amount to challenge yourself, find flow, and be comfortable playing with/for others
For curriculum I will use Off The Wall's Working Song Book.
I have worked in educational settings with children ages 4-14 for five years, and in bands with peers for the last 10 years
Focus & Goals of the First Lesson
With younger students, we can talk about the basic building blocks (notes, fingering, etc.) and soon be on the way to practicing our first song.
With older students we can discuss goals and new techniques, like new chord voicings, improvisation strategies, and practice routines
