General Teaching Style
I think that music is the "bee's knees," and I am a lifelong student. I approach teaching in this way. I am silly, but methodical. I like structure, but I also think that a little bit of "improvisational time" is great in a session. The most important thing is to have fun!
I tailor most of my sessions to the individual, for everyone has their own unique way of learning. The most standard curriculum I use is for breath work. Everything else is based off of the students' strengths and challenges.
Focus & Goals of the First Lesson
Breath work is something that I go over with all ages and skill levels. You can never have too much breath technique!
Fundamentals of the instrument and basic theory is also covered, but tailored to the individual student.
I am very patient, and am good at breaking down theory, so all ages can comprehend it. I am also adept at any style from Classical to Rock, Pop, Jazz and Country.
Additional Experience & Instruments
I have also been an actor for 12 years. This allows me to help my students bring an extra element to their playing. How do you engage an audience? What are you trying to convey when you play or sing? These elements bring the music to another level.
Most Inspirational Music Moment
I don't have just one! I am constantly inspired by other musicians, and by the fact that 8 notes can turn into billions of possibilities!

I would have to quote Ryan and say that I would like to have my guitar!
