Rock Star Piano Teacher: Ben Mish!

Ben is an experienced singer, songwriter, teacher, and performer. His musical style is steeped in tradition, yet with originality. He has studied piano & drums since early childhood, most recently with Randy Halberstadt of Seattle’s Cornish College of the Arts.

As a songwriter, Ben has licensed many songs for use in film and television. His song Blue Eyes Shinin’ was used in the hit NBC-TV show ER. His song Step Outside garnered major airplay in the AAA station format. Another song, Down the Road, was licensed by Pangolin Pictures for use on the Discovery Channel. In addition, his song Can I Get a Witness was licensed to be used in a national commercial for RealNetworks and Rhapsody Music.

As a performer, Ben has toured extensively with his band Left Hand Smoke. Notable performances with his band include a headlining stage at Seattle ’s famous Bumbershoot Festival, an opening slot for Maroon 5 and an opening slot for Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam. As a solo performer he has opened for Gavin DeGraw and William Topley. His musical travels have taken him from Los Angeles to Nashville. He has also performed in Europe.

Ben lives in Seattle and is currently a regular at Chopstix Piano Bar when he is not playing with Left Hand Smoke.

He is currently teaching piano and drum lessons at Off the Wall.
