Rebecca Fischer is now offering classical and folk violin lessons at Off the Wall! She has been working in administration at the school since April 2010 and is thrilled to be teaching here now.
Her mom and sister are both Suzuki violin teachers, so teaching is in Rebecca’s DNA! She believes students should learn what they love, and that a strong foundation in violin technique allows students to explore many different types of music with confidence – from jazz to bluegrass to hip-hop.
Rebecca has studied classical violin with Roland Vamos and Gerardo Ribeiro, and Klezmer and Gypsy fiddling with Sandra Layman and Steven Greenman. She performs frequently with the Seattle Rock Orchestra, Northwest Symphony Orchestra, and with singer-songwriter Lady Grace. Rebecca has shared the stage with diverse performers such as Alice in Chains, Natalie Cole, the Klezmatics, the Posies, and Ivan and Alyosha.
Rebecca has a BA in Sociology and Music Performance from Brown University.
