The Organistrum!
Check out the music made on an “organistrum”, an instrument whose roots go back to 10th century Spain.
The Organistrum mechanics are based on a hurdy gurdy, but played almost like a harpsichord, which is a direct ancestor of the piano, where the strings are plucked instead of struck.
It is a sound that is quaint, haunting, and as one commenter says, “crazy beautiful.”
How long do you think before Off The Wall gives lessons on this?
