Online or In-Person Music Lessons
Off the Wall School of Music is located in Seattle’s Wallingford neighborhood, and we’ve designed our school to facilitate highly engaging lessons, classes, and camps.
We understand that not everyone can visit us at the school, so we also offer online lessons using a variety of tools, such as Zoom and Tonara.
We use games, interactive activities, synchronous video lessons, and weekly homework assignments to help you progress from lesson to lesson.

I’m having a great time with music lessons at Off the Wall. Josh Stewart is an amazing teacher. He has so much genuine enthusiasm for teaching music – it’s infectious! He’s really thought about how to teach and build up your expertise, and accompanies you on instruments and with singing which is fun and helps with practicing. And I’m in my 40s and have seen him flex his style to work with folks my age and kids.

We took our three year old to Off the Wall School of Music for piano lessons and we couldn’t be happier with our decision! Chris is a brilliant pianist who is extremely patient and thoughtful about his approach. His attention to details is impeccable – he changes the bench because it’s a couple of inches higher and it makes a big difference for her; he takes the time to color her fingers because colors are more fun and also easy for her to remember while keying in the chords; adapts his lessons based on where she needs more attention; and takes the time to listen to all her stories. If you are looking for music lessons for your kids (or even adults), I highly recommend Off the Wall School of Music. 5 stars!

This is a wonderful music school for adults and children alike! I started taking voice and piano lessons with Hannah as an adult about one year ago. I signed up for the first free lesson unsure if I would do more than that and I felt really apprehensive about singing. Hannah did a great job of making me feel comfortable as I was even afraid to sing just in front of her!

Off the Wall School of Music is my daughter’s favorite place on earth. She has taken voice lessons there and has attended rock band camp twice a summer for the last three years. What an excellent school! Our 6 year old twins take lesson here and have had nothing but fun with the teachers they’ve worked with. And although they’re young musicians, they’ve been able to come home and practice the tasks they’ve been given and make impressive progress. My 4 year old just started piano lessons here with Clarkia and loves them. On his first lesson, he learned 4 songs. He was so inspired he practiced as soon as he got home and practices every day, for about 10-15minutes. I chose Clarkia based on her musical taste, but she’s also a really great teacher, very patient and empathetic and knowledgeable. I love the way she sings the notes as he plays. Looking forward to continuing our lessons here for a while.

My daughters love taking lessons here! They both have been taking piano lessons, one for over six months, one for twelve months. Their teacher, Emily is super awesome and helped them find songs they love to play, like songs from Minecraft or Plants vs Zombies. They adapt and simplify these for their level. The scheduler and the school is very professional overall as well.

This is heaven in a place. I have gone to camp here twice every year since I was eight and I can’t express in words how magical this school is. It’s amazing to be in a place where everyone is there to learn and have fun. It’s obvious no one is there to hurt anyone. Everyone that works there is so fabulous I can’t imagine a better place. If you can imagine this really doesn’t sum up how amazingly awesome this school is. They have taught me to love music!
