Curriculum
I am open to using all sorts of curricula for private piano and voice and personalizing the lessons for each student.
Most Inspirational Music Moments and Experiences
In highschool I borrowed a choral CD from my teacher. After listening to that music, I decided that I myself wanted to become a choir teacher. After going to college and teaching for 15 years, I not once ever strayed from my inspiration to be a music teacher.
I have sung in opera choruses, symphony chorales, various local choirs, community theater roles, cabaret, caroling, and I also spend my leisure time creating music digitally.
Focus & Goals of the First Lesson
During our first lesson, children, teens and adults can expect a lesson where they walk away with skills that day. They can also expect a lesson that engages their learning abilities, as well as ignite their interest in coming to a second lesson. First lessons are also a good time to talk about music goals, hopes and dreams that the student might have.
