General Teaching Style
My teaching style promotes self-learning with structured guidance along the way. I like to help students reach whatever goal they are trying to obtain while inspiring them to enjoy the work they are putting into their instrument.
My curriculum is focused on the students' goals and what they want to play while introducing things that I feel would be beneficial to them.
Focus & Goals of the First Lesson
Regardless of a student's age, I tailor the first lesson around their level of experience.
Beginner students will learn about the parts of the guitar, how to read tablature notation and chord diagrams, and learn a few short songs and chords.
Experienced students will discuss their current experience level and goals, and I will find materials that will help them progress, as well as introduce them to new concepts and techniques that I think will be of benefit.
Unique Strengths
My knowledge and experience from being a working musician and having amazing music teachers to learn from my whole musical life. Also, my patience and willingness to be spontaneous in my students' musical growth.
