General Teaching Style
I am open, encouraging, and enthusiastic about the voice! I love helping students explore the musical areas they love.
I speak beginner Spanish and Italian, but I don't feel comfortable teaching in those languages. I would feel comfortable giving classical pieces in other languages and teaching diction on those.
Curriculum
I am comfortable using the general Off the Wall teaching curriculum and adapting lessons toward each individual student's needs.
Most Inspirational Music Moments and Experiences
I got to perform at Casa Verdi when I studied opera abroad in Italy. This is a retirement home that Giuseppe Verdi created in Milan for respected musicians, and it is also where he is buried.
Expressive and Encouraging Teacher
I celebrate the human voice. I encourage students to be curious about their voice rather than judgemental. I want to help students explore expression and creativity by helping them grow in the genres they love.
I've worked with kids a lot, which makes me patient and excited to teach people new things.
Focus & Goals of the First Lesson
We will get to know each other, have some fun warming up and figuring out experience level and vocal range, and sing some songs the student is interested in.
