Fun and student-oriented! I want to teach what the student wants to learn and what will excite them about the drums.
Curriculum
I teach out of a variety of books and I also transcribe songs that students want to learn.
Focus & Goals of the First Lesson
Kids: Names of the drums, which drums make what sound, and we will get to playing our first beat right away!
Same goes for adults, but we may move a bit faster and get into some variations of a groove or into a song.

I am a good listener and since I took lessons myself for so long I can put myself in the student's shoes and lead a more effective lesson.
I worked in an alternative school for kids with behavioral problems. There, I learned a lot about interacting with children and connecting with them when we're trying to reach a mutual goal.
